2009-2010 Hunting Seasons (No dogs allowed)

Deer Permits for 2009-2010 have already drawn. For next years hunt, please check the Game and Fish Regulations hand book on Hobbs Permit Guidelines.

Deer- Seasonal bag limit: not to exceed a total of two deer, no matter the combination of seasons and/or permits.

        Two legal bucks may be harvested either through a combination of archery, permit muzzleload, and permit gun.

        3- Point Rule Applies/ button bucks and young male deer with antlers shorter than two inches will count as bucks.

Check Stations - All  DEER hunters are required to check all deer harvested during the muzzleloader and modern gun hunts at the Hobbs State Park- Conservation Area Maintenance Complex located at the intersection of Highway 12 and War Eagle Road.

   Archery/Crossbow - Deer: October 1, 2009 -February 28, 2010 (permit hunt; limit 2 - no more than one legal buck)

      ***Limited Archery hunting area during gun hunts check the park map for the correct Archery Only Zone

   Youth Gun Deer: November 7+8, 2009 (youth permit hunt - 25 available; limit one deer of either sex)

   Muzzleloader Deer: November 14-18, 2009 (permit hunt - 150 available; limit one deer of either sex)

   Modern Gun Deer: December 5-9, 2009 (permit hunt - 150 available; limit one deer of either sex)

Other Game at Hobbs:

Turkey:  NO FALL SEASON ON HOBBS:     NO SPRING 2010 SEASON  (We are trying to build up our small turkey population)

Rabbit: September 1, 2009 to February 28, 2010 (Statewide bag limit)

Squirrel: Fall - North Zone: Sept. 5, 2009 to February 28, 2010 (Statewide bag limit)

Camping: Only permitted on the backpacking area of the Pigeon Roost Trail.

ATV's & Other Off-Road Vehicles are NOT permitted in the park.

Target Shooting: Limited to the free gun shooting range.  Range closed during gun Deer Hunting Seasons

Contact the Hobbs State Park - Conservation Area office at (479) 789-5000 for information on the geographic areas of the park where hunting is permitted and prohibited.  Consult the Arkansas Game & Fish Regulation Booklet for all other game and trapping.

Gun Shooting Range   The entry road is located near the intersection of State Highways 12 and 303 North. The shooting range accommodates target stands at distances of 25, 50, 75 and 100 yards. Five covered shooting stations are provided including one barrier-free station. The range has a concrete floor and a metal trap to catch fired rounds. Shooters are required to provide their own targets (paper or cardboard only) and clothes pins (wooden only) for affixing targets to the stands. The range is open Tuesday through Sunday each week at 8:00am and closes at 7:00pm during Daylight Savings and 5:00pm the remainder of the year.
