Future Projects
The Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism—State Parks Division, has thoughtfully and strategically planned for the Park's improvements and utilization consistent with the Park's mission, "To provide enriching educational, and recreational experiences in harmony with resource stewardship." With the assistance of the Friends of Hobbs and others, the objective of making Hobbs a place of education and conservation is becoming a reality.
Coming Soon to Hobbs:
- Construction of an Educational Pavilion adjacent to the Visitor Center.
- Restoration of certain portions of the Historic Van Winkle Trail site using private funding and volunteers. Projects may include the replacement of the Antebellum garden wall and reconstruction of the Van Winkle spring house.
- The state has established a long range development plan for Hobbs, which includes the development of additional trails and campsites, subject to the fulfillment of the State Park's land acquisition plan.
